Back in 2013, Fiona was looking for a new direction. She didn’t want to return to uni, and she didn’t want to get a dead-end job. So instead she decided to splash the family’s savings on a laser engraver. As you do.
Having grown up in the country, and with a deep love of all things nature, Fiona longed to do something creative. To design and craft meaningful wooden items. To take raw lumps of wood and turn them into something beautiful.
And so six months later, Miss Bold Design was born in a not-too-glamorous garage with no heating and a leaking roof (right over the laser engraver). There was no room for storage, so all her beautiful creations ended up piled on the kitchen table.
In summary, it was vaguely organised chaos. It also meant zero division between work and business, late nights and STRESS!
Since then Miss Bold has moved to slightly more salubrious premises (an airy new warehouse), but the spirit of the business remains the same.
Fiona is sticking to her core values: “We’re not about mass-producing products. We’re focused on crafting unique gifts to be treasured forever.”
Oh, and now Miss Bold Design is not a one-woman-band – so let’s introduce the rest of the team.
