It’s that time of year again! The school year is almost at an end and you’re trying to rack your brains and think of a gift for your child’s teacher that they’ll actually love (instead of re-gifting come Christmas day!).
We’ve done all the hard work for you, so put your feet up and relax. Here are 6 gifts your child’s teacher will actually love.
Teachers don’t need you to splash the cash in order to show your appreciation.
A handmade card or letter from your child can speak volumes – not only will it show the time and effort that’s gone into it, but it also lets them reflect on how far your child has come over the last year.
They’ll see how much their handwriting, drawing, and colouring in has improved too!
You could also add some homemade cookies, brownie or other treats to go along with your child’s card.
If you want to give a handmade class gift, a scrapbook with notes from the children and parents is a lovely keepsake and really can express your collective gratitude as a class.
What’s the one thing everyone uses in their kitchen – we’d like to think it’s a chopping board.
But why gift your child’s teacher a boring old kitchen item when you can gift a beautiful, personalised chopping board instead?
Here at Miss Bold Design we’ve got heaps of styles that are perfect for teachers.
The Tree Of Love design is one of our best sellers when it comes to teacher gifts, as it includes all the names of the children in the class in the shape of a tree, with the poignant message of helping them grow throughout the year.

Who doesn’t love a bottle of bubbles? And let’s face it, your child’s teacher probably deserves it after a year of teaching!
We love finding local fizz, and where better to head in Perth than the Swan Valley?
Some of our favourites include Sitella’s Cuvee Rose NV Brut, Olive Farm Wines’ Olivine Rouge, and, for something extra special, Jane Brook Wines’ Sparkling Gold (which has real 23 carat gold leaf in it!).
Most teachers are super organised. Help them stay organised next year with a personalised teacher diary from Perth-based business, Bullet Planner.
They include sections for term dates, period times, staff and parent meetings, roll call and heaps more. You can personalise them to primary or secondary layouts too.
Given how much money teachers spend throughout the year on stationery for their classroom, stationery gifts always go down a treat.
You could add some smaller items like stickers, stamps, and sticky notes to your main gift, or you could create a mini-hamper full of things like pens, pencils, notebooks, stickers, stamps, permanent markers, tissue paper and more – the list really is endless!
When in doubt, go for a gift voucher. But make sure it’s something that they will spend on themselves.
A kindy teacher once confessed that when she gets Myer/Coles vouchers she just spends it on groceries or her kids!
Go for something like Gold Class cinema vouchers, a spa voucher or a voucher for a lovely restaurant where they can treat themselves to a night off from cooking.
Soaps and creams
Lollies and chocolates
(Unless they are personalised – just don’t go there!)
